K Type Thermocouple Installation Tips

Discussion About Installation Considerations of the K Type Thermocouple

K type thermocouple, as temperature measurement sensor, is usually connected with display instrument, recording instrument or computer by KC compensation conductor or KX extension wire. K type thermocouple has the advantages of good linearity, larger thermoelectromotive force, high sensitivity, good stability and uniformity, strong oxidation resistance, low cost price. In the process of installation K type thermocouple, the following details need to pay attention to:

1. K type thermocouple should be installed vertically in a horizontal or vertical pipe. There should be protective well for facilitate maintenance and replacement.

2. High temperature-resistant cable or compensation cable should be used in high temperature area.

3. When installing the moving coil temperature instrument, the size of the hole should be appropriate.

4. The cold end of K type thermocouple should be in the same environment temperature. The same model compensating lead wires should be used, and the positive and negative connect correctly.

 5. When measuring temperature of the pipe, the length of the element should be in the center of the pipe line (that means the protection tube insertion depth should be the half of pipe diameter).

6. Connection should be reasonable and beautiful. The clock instruction should be correct.

7. Different measuring elements are selected for the K type thermocouple according to different temperature range. Generally, thermocouple should be chosen when the measure temperature is over than 100 ℃ and thermal resistance is chosen when less than 100 ℃.
